The camera that didn't ... at first ... but now I like it!, November 12, 2011 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Minox 60666 5.1 MP Digital Spy Camera in Silver with Tin Display Box (Electronics) This camera was a continuation of a long string of Minox cameras that I have owned in the past, including the Minox IIIS in the 1950's which was quite possibly the best Minox that I have owned. This new digital Minox - The MP Digital Spy Camera in Silver with Tin Display Box - seemed to be defective from the start inasmuch as it would not shut off ... but I am also convinced that it was used when I received it (the leather case was already deflected outward on one side). As I said the camera would not shut it off ... it would simply stay on, becoming hot until the battery went dead. This happened time and again. I called the seller but they had no suggestions other then to return it to them, not seeming to really care what I did with it. With this, I sent the camera back to them and purchased a new Minox 5.1 MP Digital Spy Camera in a Wooden Box directly from Minox in Germany but this camera was new (the leather case was not deflected and was very hard to move the camera inside... Minox DSC Silver, March 27, 2012 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Minox 60666 5.1 MP Digital Spy Camera in Silver with Tin Display Box (Electronics) The Minox worked right out the box I love it. It needs a good charge once a while the picture quality is good and with the flash the pictures turn out good too considering the size of the camera.
I love my Minox for the price.

A disappointment, January 6, 2012 By Rick Waterhouse (USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Minox 60666 5.1 MP Digital Spy Camera in Silver with Tin Display Box (Electronics) I have been a fan of Minox analog camera for years. My Minox LX is a wonderful ultra compact analog camera. It was a beautifully crafted, expensive, instrument, where form and function were seamlessly integrated. In comparison its digital cousin the DSX is a toy. It looks feels and functions like an engineering prototype. Given that this camera is the second generation of DSC from Minox, one would expect something much better. And then... the combination flash/display unit failed after less than one hour of use. The few pictures I managed to take were quite acceptinle in quality. The combination of sloppy engineering/assembly and the unacceptable failure of a major component were too much to take. I had hoped for more, however, I was very disappointed.
